Question by McLovin: What are some business ideas and ways to make money as a teenager?
Hey, im 14 and I am looking for ways to make money. I have been cutting lawns during the summer for about 4 years but I am wondering if there are any other business ideas I could use to make some more money. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks

sorry but at 14 jobs like mowing lawns, babysitting, etc. is as good as it gets. No real business will hire you because of your age, especially in this economy. Not meaning to sound mean or anything, but you probabley wont be able to get a real job untill you are at LEAST 16, and even then its next to impossible. I’m 17 and got my first real job this summer (i still work there), and all the people i know who are my age couldnt get a job with a real business untill they were 17.

Let me tell you what my 13 year old brother does to make money. You know how girl scouts raise money by selling cookies they order from someone else? Well, my brother sells stuff for my friend. My friend pays him to sell custom-designed button pins for her (Like the kind that say “I love ___” and people can get whatever they want in the blank). He does it in school (like at lunch and on the bus) and on facebook, so it doesn’t take much time out of his day. Teenagers go nuts over these pins, and they are super easy to sell. He makes like $ 50 a week sometimes. My friend who hired him MIGHT consider hiring you via long distance (she’d ship the orders to you)… but you would need to email me and we could talk about it. In your situation, I will advise you that get some computer knowledge and internet browsing experience a little more. This will open several doors to make money online without doing such physical work in lawns or in hotel restaurants.
